Doctor Slump Script-Reading Photos Reveal Park Hyung-Sik, Park Shin-Hye’s Reunion After 10 Years

JTBC’s new K-drama Doctor Slump (Dr. Slump) brings Park Hyung-Sik and Park Shin-Hye together on-screen after 10 years. The recent script-reading photos featured the reunion of The Heirs’ co-stars.

In the 2013 drama, the two played the roles of school friends, while the upcoming K-drama will feature them as the lead pair. Doctor Slump is a romance and doctor-themed series that is directed by Oh Hyun-jong and written by Baek Sun-woo.

Doctor Slump K-drama release date, cast & more

JTBC announced the release date of Doctor Slump on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. The upcoming rom-com South Korean drama will premiere on January 27, 2024. It will consist of 16 episodes with a run time of 45 minutes (per episode).

Dr. Slump will air episodes on Saturdays and Sundays at 10.30 p.m. KST on JTBC. It will take the time slot of the ongoing Ji Chang-Wook drama, Welcome to Samdalri

The cast includes Park Hyung-Sik as Yeo Jung-Woo, Park Shin-Hye as Nam Ha-Neul, Yoon Park as Bin Dae-Young, Kong Seong-Ha as Lee Hong-Ran, Jang Hye-Jin as Gong Wol-Sun, Hyun Bong-Sik as Gong Tae-Sun, Yoon Sang-Hyeon as Nam Ba-Da, Oh Dong-Min as Min Kyeong-Min, Park Won-Ho as Kim Moo-Geun, Kang Sang-Joon as Son Chan-Young, and Jung Ji-Soon as homeroom teacher.

The forthcoming series is about two genius doctors who hit a slump in their lives. Jung-Woo’s medical career takes a break after a mysterious accident. Ha-Neul desires to experience fun in her monotonous life. When the two hit rock bottom, they met each other. While they were rivals in the past, their current situations bring them together. As they confide in each other, love blossoms. 

Meanwhile, Doctor Slump will premiere in January next year on JTBC.
