Will There Be a Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire R-Rated Director’s Cut Release Date & Is It Coming Out?

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire was one of the most highly-anticipated films of the year. Even though it garnered poor reviews from the critics, it will probably be a big success for Netflix. The PG-13 version of the film had a limited theatrical release on December 15, 2023, before it debuted on the streaming service on December 21, 2023, with an R-rated director’s cut announced to be released later. If you are wondering when that will be, this is what we have discovered.

Here’s all the Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire R-Rated Director’s Cut release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.

Is there a Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire R-Rated Director’s Cut release date?

Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire R-Rated Director Cut’s release date could arrive by summer 2024 or earlier.

Following the announcements that Rebel Moon would have two parts, and their subtitles would be Part One: A Child of Fire and Part Two: The Scargiver, respectively, it was revealed that both films would receive R-rated director cuts alongside their PG-13 versions. Speaking to the Daily Express in December 2023, Snyder stated the director’s cut would be an hour longer than the version that received a limited theatrical release and is currently available on Netflix. The filmmaker also said that the director’s cut would come out in summer 2024 and would have a different opening focused on the character Atticus Noble, portrayed by Ed Skrein.

However, there are reports that the director’s cut will be released before Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver, which is slated to premiere on April 19, 2024. While it makes sense to release both versions of Part One before releasing Part Two, the audience can react negatively as it will impact how they view the PG version of the second part. It’s also possible for the director’s cut of Part One to be released along with Part Two’s PG version. ComingSoon will provide an update when the release date of Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire R-Rated Director’s Cut is officially announced.

This date is an estimation based on the information we have at the time of this writing.

The cast includes Sofia Boutella as Kora, Djimon Hounsou as Titus, Charlie Hunnam as Kai, Michiel Huisman as Gunnar, Staz Nair as Tarak, Doona Bae as Nemesis, Ray Fisher as Darrian Bloodaxe, Cleopatra Coleman as Devra Bloodaxe, E. Where is Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire R-Rated Director’s Cut coming out?
