Curry & Cyanide: Where Is Jolly Joseph Now?

The events of the Koodathayi cyanide killings not only shocked but forced the entire nation to think about what is happening around them. The series of crimes began in 2002 and continued till 2019. The initial investigation found that a 47-year-old woman named Jolly Joseph was responsible for all the deaths. However, the case turned out to be trickier. The terrifying murders are the subject of Netflix’s latest documentary, Curry & Cyanide, and explore several new details.

As per the documentary, Jolly Joseph reportedly poisoned six of her family members to gain control over their properties. Surprisingly, she was not alone in this killing spree. Her first victim turned out to be her mother-in-law in 2002. As the time passed, all of her family members started dying mysteriously. At first, Joseph tried convincing everyone that her family members died naturally. However, the truth was something else.

In 2019, Rojo Thomas, the brother of Jolly’s first husband, filed a complaint and asked the police to investigate the deaths. As soon as the investigation began, the authorities found discrepancies in previous findings. Subsequently, the authorities exhumed all the bodies and sent them for autopsy.

The autopsy report revealed that all the six deaths happened because of poison. As a result, Jolly Joseph was arrested and later confessed to the crimes. Currently, Jolly Joseph is in remand at Kozhikode’s district prison and awaiting trial.

Curry & Cyanide: Who was Jolly Joseph’s accomplice & where is he now?

The documentary Curry & Cyanide revealed that a man named M. S. Mathew helped Jolly Joseph acquire cyanide and execute the deadly plan. As per reports, Mathew took the lethal poison from one of his colleagues, Praji Kumar.

The documentary also indicated that Mathew got close to Jolly Joseph during her mother-in-law’s funeral. Initially, no one suspected anything, but as the investigations progressed, Mathew was revealed to be one of Joseph’s accomplices. As of now, MS Mathew is in police custody and awaiting trial.

Curry & Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case is currently streaming on Netflix.
