Doctor Slump Trailer Teases Park Shin-Hye, Park Hyung-Sik’s Budding Romance

The much-awaited K-drama Doctor Slump recently released a new trailer, creating more hype among viewers. The series is a romantic comedy that follows the story of academic rivals Yeo Jung-Woo (Park Hyung-Sik) and Nam Ha-Neul (Park Shin-Hye). Their rivalry soon turns into romance years after they reunite while going through the darkest period of their lives. The lead actors were last seen together in The Heirs (2013).

The newly released trailer of Doctor Slump, which premieres on January 27, 2024, showcases the budding romance between Yeo Jung-Woo and Nam Ha-Neul. The two reunite when they go through a rough phase in their lives. Although they were academic rivals back then, it works in their favor as they are able to turn the tide into falling in love with each other. Viewers will have to wait and see how their journey unfolds.

Doctor Slump features two central characters—Yeo Jung-Woo and Nam Ha-Neul—as academic rivals in high school. However, they are at a different stage in life while reuniting as adults. These ex-rivals will soon turn into lovers after sharing their respective journeys. Moreover, the two navigate the toughest period of their lives together while also falling in love with each other.

Yeo Jung-Woo is a successful plastic surgeon, but his career faces a sharp decline due to a medical accident. Meanwhile, Nam Ha-Neul is an anesthesiologist who struggles with work burnout and identity crisis. The newly released trailer showcases their journey together as they spend quality time.

Jung-Woo tells Ha-Neul, “My life is so incredibly salty, but you’re so sweet. It was like eating candy in a saltern.” Meanwhile, Ha-Neul is visibly startled at the statement and stammers while repeating his statement. The trailer further showcases glimpses of the two former rivals spending time and having fun together amid beaches, cherry blossoms, and fireworks.

By the end of the trailer, Ha-Neul says, “We ended up meeting again during the worst slumps of our lives.” Viewers will have to tune in to find out how the two use their slumps to learn more about each other and themselves.

Doctor Slump airs on January 27, 2024, at 10:30 pm KST on JTBC. The drama will also be available to stream on Netflix.
